UB South Campus Roof Replacement Project
The State University of New York at Buffalo
Amherst, New York
The UB Roof Replacement Project covers five buildings at the South Campus. Crosby Hall, Foster Hall, Hayes Hall Annex D, Squire Hall and Townsend Hall roof systems range from sloped slate tile roofing (Crosby and Foster) to modified bituminous flat roofing (Squire, Hayes Annex D) and asphalt shingles (Townsend).
The scope of work included extensive field surveying of all structures along with hazardous material testing, evaluation of historical significance, investigation of applicable roofing systems, cost estimating and preparation of construction documents. Vegetated roofing options were also investigated. The objective was to provide the campus with new, historically appropriate and high performance roof and drainage systems that are easily maintainable and will serve the Campus for the next generation.
There is approximately 68,000 square feet of bituminous roofing, partial slate roof replacement, gutter and flashing replacements, rain water leader replacements, and asphalt shingle replacement. The overall construction cost of this project was $2,200,000.
